Horn of Africa Ethiopia/Eritrea/Djibouti/Somalia
I can recall seeing the first time I saw the eskista being danced to Amharic music. I immediately wanted to partake in the party because it was a dance I have never seen before.
I would then hear Tigrigna which was music from Eritrea and I loved how everyone formed a circle and screamed at the top of their lungs.
I discovered Somalian music one day by mistake while researching the music and I fell in love with the sound.
As far as Djibouti, I always known about the history of the country, so I had fun discovering its music.

For those who are not following me on my instagram I had a partyI called the "Horn of Africa". I played music from Ethiopia and Eritrea. I had some friends who were Habesha in Harlem and Got to experience a bonafide Habesha party one day. I was very happy to play my own, unfortunately I worked with a greedy promoter so I dismantled the event but I still made a name for myself in the Ganesha circle in Harlem. I even landed a gig playing at Queen of Sheba before Covid 19 hit.
